- Elsa Puffs are approx. 9x9x10cm.
- The blush pink puff is crocheted in James C Brett 'Chinchilla' yarn. Their heads/ears/paws/snowflake are crocheted in King Cole sparkly white DK yarn.
- Their sparkly blue eyes are hand-painted and attached with safety backs.
- They have been lightly brushed to make them extra soft and fluffy.
- Each Pygmy Puffs comes with a custom book-page badge, as seen in photos.
- They are stuffed with recycled polyester fibre fill.

The Backstory
I’ve always been a huge fan of Frozen and, like many people, Elsa’s character resonated a lot with my mental health journey. The song “Let it Go” came out at a particularly difficult time, and to this day still gives me strength. Yet in recent months, Frozen has taken on a whole other layer of value, namely what it means to a class of 5/6 year olds!
We recently set up a dressing up area in the playground and (surprise surprise!) there is an Elsa costume. Suffice to say, it has proven VERY POPULAR, yet that also means quite a lot of disappointment! What’s more, while this teaches good life skills about sharing, trying to rationalise that to a 5 year old is easier said than done.
A couple of weeks ago, things got particularly heated and there were enough l tears to melt an ice castle! So I went up to the children and said ‘you don’t need a dress to be an Elsa!’ And proceeded to dance around the playground singing Let it Go at the top of my lungs. Within a minute, half a dozen children were singing along with me and had soon forgotten they weren’t wearing a dress.
I’m a KNUTshell, they had LET IT GO and realised that just BEING is enough - no frocks or filters needed. It’s also a life lesson that doesn’t have an age limit… on the contrary, it’s the very same message that I continually try to spread on this account, so I felt the story was worth sharing with you all! It was also the story that I had in my mind as I brought Elsa Puff to life so, suffice to say, she is incredibly dear to my heart. On that note, I hope she makes your soul smile as much as she has mine!
The Design Story
Elsa puff differs from my other Pygmy puffs in a few distinct ways. Firstly, for the first time in FOREVER (literally!) I have NOT used plain white yarn for her face. Instead, I have used a SPEWcial sparkly yarn, which matches her snowflake. Which brings me on nicely to derail change two… the EYES! As the sparkly white yarn was slightly thicker than my usual yarn, her face came out slightly bigger and I therefore decided to UPSIZE her eyes from 7.5 to 9mm. As your mad eye may have spied, I also used a super sparkly blue nail polish to paint them, to make her truly Elsa-worthy.
Finally, rather than using fluffy yarn for the inside of her ears, I decided to use yellow embroidery thread to reflect the colour of Elsa’s hair; I tried doing a nose in this colour, but it looked a little strange so I stuck with this darker, cerulean blue - like the rim of her famous ice-palace dress.
Your Story
As with all other Spew Crew beasties, each Elsa puff is handmade to my own pattern, so is 100% exclusive to Bumble and Be. As they are made-to-order, it means that no two will be quite the same, but I like to think that is part of their magic - just like an Ollivander wand!
Every single Elsa Puff adopted will also come with their own exclusive adoption card and "beastie book badge", which I make from the secondhand pages of Harry Potter books. Before your beastie flies off to you, I will ask if you have a name in mind and - if so - put this onto the adoption card. On that note, this name will often form the basis for the book badge too; for example, past customers have called Pygmy Puffs Poppy and Pomona, so I have chosen passages with these names included!
