Crochet Burrow Fwooper

 In a KNUTshell

• Fwoopers are approximately 16cm tall.
• Their bodies are crocheted in Sirdar "alpine" and Sheepjes 'Furry Tales' yarn.
• Their beak and claws are crocheted in DK gold yarn.
• Their eyes have been hand-painted with cruelty-free nail polish.
• Each Fwooper comes with a beespoke "beastie book badge" and adoption card, which will certify that they are a FREE BEASTIE.
• There is also an option to add a burrow-themed book flower to your order. 
• As with all my beasties they are made-to-order, please allow 4-6 weeks from the point of adoption before they are ready to fly home to you! 

The Beastie Backstory

When it comes to comparison, Social media is a pesky pixie… particularly around this time of year, where our feeds can be inundated with merch-laden present hauls. We can solemnly swear - hand on heart - that we never go green with envy... but let’s be honest, we’ve all been there and, what’s more, I am here to say that it’s OKAY to have these thoughts… what’s not okay is to let them fester. To let envy grow, until we’re as green as a post-puking-pastille first year.

I feel that all of us could benefit from remembering Harry’s initial response to the Burrow. Ron’s apologetic stance is the perfect analogy for our own self-doubt, as we scroll past 394 photos of New Wands and Noble Collection replicas (not that there’s anything wrong with these things, I must stress!) but they’re also NOT a prerequisite for having a “successful” pottergram. Among the rusty cauldrons, lopsided sign and knitted jumpers, Harry found a world that made his soul smile. He recognised that LOVE and CREATIVITY were more valuable than all the galleons in gringotts, and it was this idea that inspired me to create… the Burrow Fwooper! 🥰

This beeautiful and bighearted bird has a Weasley-worthy ginger head, with a red belly to evoke some Gryffindor pride And gold accents - again - to reflect her inner Lion. Because just like love and creativity, being brave like a Lion is worth its weight in galleon gold. I also felt that those sassy fwooper eyebrows were a perfect embodiment of many Weasley Family moments, from Molly’s showdown with Bellatrix, to Ginny’s bat-bogey-hexing!  

Your Story 

As with all other Spew Crew beasties, each Fwooper is handmade to my own pattern, so is 100% exclusive to Bumble and Be. As they are made-to-order, it means that no two will be quite the same, but I like to think that is part of their magic - just like an Ollivander wand!

Every single Fwooper adopted will also come with their own exclusive adoption card and "beastie book badge", which I make from the secondhand pages of Harry Potter books. Before your beastie flies off to you, I will ask if you have a name in mind and - if so - put this onto the adoption card. On that note, this name will often form the basis for the book badge too; for example, past customers have called Fwoopers Filius, Flora and Firenze, so I have chosen passages with these names included!
